Review - Random Rural Arts Gallery, Willow Tree

 Random Arts Gallery Arts Gallery (Willow Tree) Robyn Marheine owns a house and across the road an old garage that she uses as an art gallery, a vintage equipment museum and the yard area as a regular market space. Robyn explained it like this: "Random Rural is a retiring farming wife's new occupation and studio. The ex stock and station building, yard and sheds are now exhibiting a wonderful collection of local talent and crafts as an outlet and meeting place. This is a service for fellow primary producers. $10 is the fee on any item or 50c under $10. Cash only goes to the talented creators who have mainly retired with hobbies and skills. Various clubs use here for morning or afternoon tea meetings. Available is Coffee/Teas/Milo and homemade slice/biscuits for a coin donation to enjoy in the garden or back deck. "

  Elise Edler - "Rust Collection" in water colour. Chris on a recent trip to Townsville came across the work of Elise Edler. She is an active member of the Townsville Art Society. This amazing artist has created a series of paintings in water colour of rust related scenes. So realistic. TAS Artist Profile: Elise Edler Elise Edler paints in watercolour.  She hails from Mount Isa where she spent a wonderful childhood with all the colours that western Queensland shows off. Following a long process of working full-time and studying part-time, Elise graduated from James Cook University with an LLB.   Having attended a watercolour course for beginners, Elise fell in love with this medium and has used it extensively since retirement. For over 15 years she has also been heavily involved with the Townsville Art Society and has been on the management committee holding several different positions.   Nambucca Valley Arts Council (NVAC) The Nambucca Valley Arts Council (NVAC) organizes exhibitions throughout the year. Regular  exhibitions are held every two months where one features a specific artist, or group of artists, whilst the other encourages our members to follow a specific theme. The current exhibition is based on all things blue. It is halfway through ending on the 31 March 2025. Bruce's Bluey the dog features.

Review - Quirindi Silo Art

Quirindi Silo Art  The GrainCorp Silos at Quirindi NSW were completed in December 2022 by artist Peter Ryan, who was assisted by Keira Sloetjes and Kate Rutter. The Story of Quirindi Translation from Kamilaroi: Nest in the Hills. The art on the silo tells the story of the past, present and future of the Liverpool Plains region It was inspired by fascinating Aboriginals stories about how certain animals worked with the indigenous community as helpers and protectors. The northern side of the silo features Yurrandaali, the tree goanna, totem of the Liverpool Plains traditional lands, who is the protector of the lands. To the right, the grey Bandaarr Kangaroo stands tall it is the knowledge holders and very wise, it would always be on the lookout and would sense any danger or troubles. It is red here to pay homage to Cumbo Gunnerah, also know as Red Cheif, a well-known Kamilaroi leader in this region.
