Review - Water Colour Exhibition - "The Rust Collection". A report by Chris

Elise Edler - "Rust Collection" in water colour.

Chris on a recent trip to Townsville came across the work of Elise Edler. She is an active member of the Townsville Art Society.

This amazing artist has created a series of paintings in water colour of rust related scenes. So realistic.

TAS Artist Profile: Elise Edler

Elise Edler paints in watercolour.  She hails from Mount Isa where she spent a wonderful childhood with all the colours that western Queensland shows off. Following a long process of working full-time and studying part-time, Elise graduated from James Cook University with an LLB.

Having attended a watercolour course for beginners, Elise fell in love with this medium and has used it extensively since retirement.

For over 15 years she has also been heavily involved with the Townsville Art Society and has been on the management committee holding several different positions. Elise has also been involved in passing on her skills with watercolour with classes for beginners over the years.

Further highlights in her watercolour journey have been winning the Watercolour section of the TAS Art Awards and a very successful joint exhibition with her husband Peter.  Elise is currently working on a body of works for another exhibition co-jointly with Peter showing July/August 2024 in Art at Jezzine Gallery.  This exhibition, Rust Lust, features those western Queensland colours Elise loves.
