11 February 2025 This collaboration was a quick hit. In only 30 minutes an intriguing masterpiece appeared. A photograph of an unknown subject was cut into 12 pieces. Each piece was only 100 x 100mm which when put together formed a painting 300 x 400mm. As the 12 artists finished their part of the painting, it was added to the mosaic and a cat appeared. Have a look at the original picture compared to the collaboration The cat is a little fatter as I stretched the image to fit the 300mm x 400mm shape. This exercise shows the value of tackling small sections of a painting especially when you have become lost. The idea is that each painting consists of 9 panels and that 9 artists paint one of the panels. The combined effort can be quite surprising. A range of subject matter has been tackled this way.
